KLAMATH FALLS, Ore. (AP) -- A Klamath Falls doctor who left the country to visit relatives is having a difficult time returning.

Radio station KFLS reports that Mohamed Siyad and his family went to the Republic of Maldives in July for what was supposed to be a two-week vacation.

The federal office of Homeland Security blocked their visa in early August and they're still not back.

Officials at Sky Lakes Medical Center asked Congressman Greg Walden for his help, but later learned the doctor must wait for the FBI to complete a name-verification process.

Sky Lake vice president Don York says he is frustrated with government's lack of movement, but more concerned about the confusion the situation is causing patients. He added that the doctor's son is missing his first year in high school.
