PORTLAND -- The vessels from the United States Navy, U.S. Coast Guard and the Canadian Maritime Forces are arriving in Portland for the Rose FestivalWednesday and Thursday.
The first ship was got in around 5 p.m. Tuesday.The majority will come in Wednesday and Thursday.
Drivers can expect delays if they plan to use the Broadway, Steel, Burnside and Morrison bridges around 2:30 p.m. - 4 p.m.
Ship tours will be available daily, usually between 9 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. Admission will be free, on a first-come basis, as time allows.
Fleet Week is an annual tradition at the Rose Festival and sailors look forward to visiting as tourists, too.

Visitors on the ship tours may be subject to personal searches and no bags, strollers or wheelchairs will be allowed onboard. There will not be any holding areas for personal items and visitors must be able to maneuver on board the ships, including climbing narrow ladders.
