WOODLAND, Wash. -- A fisherman found a body on the banks of the Columbia River near Woodland Sunday afternoon.

The fisherman reported finding the body around 12:30 p.m., according to Charlie Rosenzweig, spokesman for the Cowlitz County Sheriff's Office.

Rosenzweig said the body appeared to have been in the water for several weeks or more and he couldn't speculate on the age or gender due to decomposition.

A coroner was examining the body to determine the cause of death.
