EUGENE, Ore. -- The University of Oregon has released what it calls an updated timeline of the rape investigation involving three mens basketball players.
Here are those details:
UO officials said they asked Eugene police on March 17 and March 18 if any specific players needed to stay home from the upcoming NCAA tournament. EPD told the university to do nothing that might alert the players about the investigation.
Then, on March 19, UO President Michael Gottfredson learned the names of the players involved -- Brandon Austin, Damyean Dotson and Dominic Artis -- but did not share the information with the athletic department.
UO received the police report on April 24 and Athletic Director Rob Mullens read the report on April 29.
The players were suspended on April 26.
