He was last seen early Friday morning driving a small red pickup in Mill City, according to an Oregon Department of Corrections statement.

Swearingen (pictured) is 31 years old, 5-foot-6, 140 lbs, with brown hair and blue eyes. Anyone with information on his whereabouts is asked to call Oregon State Police at 1-800-452-7888.

Police warn that Swearingen should be considered armed and dangerous.

He was jailed in February on charges from Linn County of theft, burglary and unauthorized use of a motor vehicle.

Swearingen was the first person to escape from the prison since it opened in 2007.
