PORTLAND --- The former Beaverton teacher who fled to Mexico to avoid child pornography charges was back in court Tuesday.

Local prosecutors said Logan Storm abused two young girls at a community pool back in 2007.

The trial comes a little more than a year after the former Beaverton teacher was convicted of possessing child pornography. Storm fled the country after authorities found his electronic monitoring bracelet ditched in Troutdale. He was later found in Mexico City.

Storm was originally charged with abusing the young girls in 2011, but his trial was put on hold until the child pornography issue was resolved. Storm was sentenced to 8 years in prison in the federal case.

Now, nearly 7 years after the alleged abuse at the pool happened, the trail was underway.

Prosecutors said Storm inappropriately touched two young girls at the Mt. Scott Community Center pool in July 2007.

At the Tuesday trial, the mother of one of the victims testified about the incident.

She described her child coming to her at the pool and talking about about the alleged abuse moments after it happened. The woman then recalled locking eyes with Storm.

Me and him made eye contact, the woman said. It was a look that I can t forget. It was a really wide-eyed, just kind of like trying to watch what we were doing.

If convicted, Storm could spend even more time behind bars.
