PORTLAND -- Deputies arrested a man in Portland after he jumped out of a minivan and ditched his Slurpee before tossing out some methamphetamine early Friday morning, authorities said.

Just after 1 a.m., deputies pulled over 48-year-old Zane Grey Macziewski at a Southeast Portland motel parking lot, according to Sgt. Daniel Kraus with the Clackamas County Sheriff s Office.

Macziewski then popped out of the minivan and took off running south on McLoughlin Boulevard. He then dropped his Slurpee before forgoing his stash of meth, Kraus said.

Macziewski was taken into custody in the 4400 block of Southeast Bordman Avenue. He was booked in the Clackamas County Jail on attempting to elude and escape charges.

Two passengers in the van also took off but deputies had no interest in them.
