SALEM Close to 2,000 of people got flu shots and other health services for free Saturday.

The event was the third annual Kroc Health Fair where more than 40 health and wellness-related organizations offered screening, shots, samples and more.

Many people got hearing tests, blood pressure monitoring and even massages. The Kroc Center is run by the Salvation Army.

Many people don't have the money to go and pay for a flu shot or to get these screenings. We hope maybe we can fill that need and serve the community in that way, said director of operations Kendall Reid.

Walgreens provided the free flu shots for the event.
