BEAVERTON, Ore. -- A Beaverton man, missing since Thursday afternoon, was found in Portland Friday alive and well.
Russell Welsh was spotted by a bystander sometime after 7:30 p.m. in the Rose Quarter Transit Center. Police stayed with him until Beaverton police could arrive to take him home.
A Beaverton police spokesperson said Welsh didn't say where he had been or where he spent the night. Welsh said he just wanted to go home and go to bed.
Welsh lives in a Beaverton Care Center. He stepped out for a cigarette at the group home in the 11000 block of Southwest Marylyn Place at about 4 p.m. Thursday and had not been seen by police or caretakers since, said Beaverton police spokesman Mike Rowe.
Welsh was taken back to that group home Friday night.
