VANCOUVER -- Neighbors believe lightning brought down a tree in Vancouver.

It happened in the 17000 block of Northeast 22nd Street Tuesday afternoon.

I see this bolt come straight down and a second later a big, echoing, almost shotgun-in-your-ear sound, said neighbor Matt Penfield. It rattled my window.

Penfield and other neighbors raced outside. They found the tree covering a woman's car. Nobody was hurt.

That's the closest I've been to a lightning strike, said Penfield.
