SANDY, Ore. -- A heavy front-loader fell off of a semi trailer and landed on an empty barn after a crash in Sandy Wednesday morning, police said.

Deputies were called just before 6:30 a.m. to the crash on Southeast Wildcat Mountain Road, near Southeast Horace Road, said Clackamas County Sheriff's Office Deputy Mark Nikolai.

The driver told deputies that he was pulling the trailer and front-loader when the rear dual tires of the trailer slid off the road, causing the trailer to slide down an embankment, Nikolai said.

The chains holding the front-loader snapped and it flipped off of the trailer, he said.

The crash caused extensive damage to the empty barn. No injuries were reported.
