DALLAS, Ore. -- Two homes were destroyed by a fire in Dallas, Ore., Thursday morning, officials said.

The fire was first reported just after 9 a.m. in the 400 block of Southwest Washington Street, according to Dallas City Manager Ron Foggin.

Arriving crews found a house fully engulfed. One woman in the house escaped and was treated at the scene for minor burns and smoke inhalation.

She told investigators she rents the home, and that she had awoken to find her bed on fire, Foggin said.

Embers also caught the house next door on fire, Foggin said. Crews evacuated that house and no injuries were reported, but each home was considered a total loss.
