PORTLAND - Accused killer Eric Meiser spoke out in court today to protest his treatment at the Clackamas County jail, just before the judge in the case issued a gag order.
Meiser is accused of killing Lake Oswego resident Fritz Hayes last September and is a person of interest in a Kelso murder from last summer..
Now the judge is trying to figure out if he's fit to stand trial. But before that can happen, she wants Meiser to talk with a psychologist.
Meiser refused to do that Thursday and instead complained about his treatment to the judge onFriday.
I'm being messed with right before, it happens all through the day. But as soon as I begin to wake up somebody's there to ah say something, some skullduggery, or project some semantic into my psyche and I m tired of it and everyone knows it s happening and no one cares, Meiser said.
The judge told Meiser he might be hearing things only in his head, but no one will know until he meets with the psychologist.
A separate psychologist who met with Meiser after his arrest said he thinks Meiser may be a paranoid schizophrenic.
In the end, Meiser agreed to cooperate. The judge placed a gag order on him to keep him talking with reporters.
