A fake Associated Press story on the Oregon Ducks football team slipped through to the NY Times, Washington Post and many other major media outlets Monday.

A story about UCLA beating the Ducks last Saturday passed through an automated AP story, according to the Deadspin media blog.

Excerpt: PASADENA, Calif. - Bob Jones threw three touchdown passes, including the game-winner with 10 seconds left, as UCLA stunned Oregon 21-20 on Saturday night.

The Ducks have no scheduled game against UCLA this season.

Redshirt freshman Marcus Mariota will be starting quarterback for the Sept. 1 season opener vs. Arkansas State at Autzen Stadium.

Here are screengrabs taken by Deadspin of the story as it appeared on the websites of the New YorkTimes and the Washington Post.
