PORTLAND, Ore. --Traffic in the immediate area around the Oregon Convention Center was impacted through the evening commute on Tuesday due to a campaign visit by Pres. Obama.

Northeast Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard was closed to all traffic from Multnomah Street to the I-84 overpass during the visit, and area businesses had access for foot-traffic only.

TriMet closed the Convention Center MAX platform and trains did not stop there. The Rose Quarter Transit Station and the Northeast 7th and Multnomah stops stayed open.

MAX lines on the east side stopped operating for a short time for the motorcade,

The Rose Quarter exit ramp from westbound Interstate 84 to northbound Interstate 5 was also closed Tuesday during President Obama s visit to Portland.
