PORTLAND The Portland Trail Blazers introduced some new faces Monday after a week of shake-ups.

Interim Head Coach Kaleb Canales introduced Jonny Flynn and Hasheem Thabeet to Portland.

Last week, the team announced the trades of Gerald Wallace and Marcus Camby, along with the firing of head coach Nate McMillan. That came after a 42-point loss on the road to the New York Knicks.

The two players and their new coach were very excited and all smiles during a team press conference Monday morning.

I m not going to change who I am in terms of me, Canales said. I m very blessed and fortunate to have, (this opportunity) that I take seriously, to give the city of Portland something to be proud of.

Flynn and Thabeet were acquired in the Camby trade to the Houston Rockets.

The Blazers are going through a tough stretch, Flynn said. Sometimes you have to make tough decisions to get the best out of your players, it all a part of the business we re in and hopefully it all works out.

The 23-year-old Flynn has career averages of 9.7 points, 1.9 rebounds and 3.9 assists in three seasons with Minnesota and Houston. He was named to the NBA All-Rookie Second Team in 2010, the Blazers said.

Thabeet, 25, has career averages of 2.2 points, 2.7 rebounds and 10.7 minutes in his three seasons with Memphis and Houston. He is a native of Tanzania and was selected by Memphis with the second overall pick in the 2009 NBA Draft. At 7-foot-3, he is the tallest player in the NBA.
