AUMSVILLE, Ore. -- The Red Cross opened a shelter at a church in Aumsville after a tornado tore through the city's downtown and displaced nearly a dozenfamilies.

The shelter was located at 111 Main Street at Mountain View Wesleyan Church in Aumsville.

Oregon Red Cross spokeswoman Lise Harwin said volunteers were delivering supplies -- including food and beverages -- to the shelter.

Displaced familiesalso receive a debit card they can spend on clothing, food and specific needs, such as prescriptions. Online donations could be made to the Red Cross at www.oregonredcross.org/donate.
