LAKEVIEW, Ore. -- An Illinois teen was found Thursday, after he vanished from a Central Oregon wilderness camp the day before, according to the Lake County Sheriff's Office.

Kevin Robert Mulert, 18, was reported missing Wednesday morning from a therapeutic wilderness program camp site, about six miles south of Frederick Butte in Lake County.

Searchers on horseback found Mulert around 10:30 a.m., Thursday. They said he was less than two miles away from the camp.

He was dehydrated, but otherwise in good condition, police said.

Lake County Sheriff Phil McDonald said a team of 30 people were searching the area for Mulert Thursday, with help from Civil Air Patrol and Oregon National Guard air resources.

Mulert is from Deerfield, Illinois. He was described as 5-foot-11, 200 lbs, with brown hair and brown eyes. He may have been wearing glasses and may have been wearing a red fleece jacket, khaki shorts, and socks.

He was not wearing shoes and walked away undetected from the camp during the early morning hours, McDonald said.
