PORTLAND, Ore. -- Portland Police gang enforcement officers are investigating shots fired Saturday night in Northeast Portland.

Callers reported hearing gunshots at 9:48 p.m. on Saturday, just east of Grand Avenue in Portland's Kerns neighborhood.

Witnesses saw two vehicles speeding away.

Police spokesman Sgt. Pete Simpson says officers found evidence of gunfire, but no victims.

He says no one with gunshot wounds checked into area hospitals.

In a separate incident Saturday night, police say occupants of two vehicles exchanged gunfire just blocks away from David Douglas High School.

Simpson said the Portland police Gang Enforcement Team and Gun Task Force were investigating the incident.

Anyone with information about gang or gun crimes was asked to call 503-823-4106.
