LINCOLN CITY, Ore. -- Family, friends and members of the worldwide firefighting community remembered honorary 3-year-old firefighter Daniel Christiansen at a celebration of life Sunday.

Fire trucks lined the streets of Lincoln City to honor the boy. He died from cancer on March 10, but not before inspiring people around the world to action.

Daniel brought together firefighters everywhere after his parents asked North Lincoln Fire & Rescue to let him ride in a fire engine. They did much more than that; they made him an honorary firefighter and shared his story with the world.

Now his parents have vowed to give young children the chance Daniel had to live out a dream in their final days.

We feel and believe that Daniel is not alone in the young spirits across the world that have the dream of being a firefighter, or just wanting to ride in a big, loud, red fire truck, and we believe that Daniel should not be alone in this quest, reads a Facebook post from Team Daniel. So we are going to work with other terminally ill children with the same dreams.
