FOREST GROVE, Ore. -- A Pacific University freshman was rescued by firefighters after she climbed a tree and got stuck, a university official said.

The student violated school policy when she climbed about 20 feet up the tree just after 4 p.m. Tuesday, said spokesman Joe Lang.

After about 20 minutes, she realized she couldn't get down on her own and a pair of passing campus safety officers called the Forest Grove Fire Department, Lang said.

The student was not injured and the tree was not damaged.

Lang said the situation will be reviewed before a decision is made on possible discipline.
