LINCOLN CITY, Ore. -- Heavy rain and flooding caused the shoulder of Highway 18 to collapse outside Lincoln City Tuesday, sending a truck tumbling onto its side.

The collapse occurred on a stretch of the highway located about eight miles east of Lincoln City.

Authorities said no one was hurt when the truck went off the roadway. The driver said they pulled to the side of the road, where they thought it was safe, and the pavement just crumbled.
