VANCOUVER A woman charged with witness tampering in connection with a deadly Vancouver hit-and-run posted bail Monday morning and was released from jail under the condition that she cannot have contact with her live-in boyfriend, his mother or the victim's families.

That's because her boyfriend is the suspected driver in the hit-and-run.

Prosecutors earlier this week named 27-year-old Brandon Smith as the suspected driver of the truck that hit and killed 28-year-old Irina Gardinant and 45-year-old Raisa Mosh as they were crossing a Vancouver street on Jan. 19.

Smith, of Vancouver, has not been arrested in the case but prosecutors said he left the scene of the accident.

His live-in girlfriend, 21-year-old Kalista Andino, was charged Monday with one count of witness tampering. Prosecutors said she was a passenger in the truck but did not report the deadly crash.

According to the police search warrant, Andino complained to a neighbor that her boyfriend is an alcoholic who frequently drives under the influence. The search warrant also described how police obtained DNA from a suspected driver, a computer, and a receipt for groceries purchased at a nearby store just prior to the deadly crash.

Andino posted bail Tuesday but wasn't released until Wednesday when the conditions of her bail were met. She was ordered not to have any contact with Smith, his family or the victims' family members. At a hearing Wednesday morning, Smith's lawyer presented a statement saying Smith would move out of the home.

Andino and Smith's 5-month-old daughter was taken into protective custody earlier in the week. There was no word on when she would be returned to the care of either parent.

Smith's mother, 63-year-old Linda Smith (pictured at left), was also charged with witness tampering. She allegedly called witnesses and urged them not to speak with investigators.

She posted bail Tuesday and was released to return to her home, with conditions. She was ordered not to have any contact with Andino, the victims' families or her son, Brandon.
