PORTLAND -- A dump truck crashed on the Interstate 5 southbound on-ramp to Interstate 84 eastbound Friday afternoon, closing all lanes of traffic for about two hours.

The truck was partially hanging over the edge while crews responded to the crash at about 1:20 p.m.

ODOT said the truck was stuck on the rail along the right side of the flyover ramp. A tow company removed the truck and ODOT bridge crews were on the scene to asses the damage.

The ramp was reopened just after 3 p.m. but traffic was still extremely slow in all directions near the crash site. Transportation officials said travelers should avoid the area or expect significant delays throughout the Friday evening commute.
