ROSEBURG, Ore. -- The Douglas County sheriff's office says a teenage boy from the Drain area was killed when a hunting rifle he and a friend were handling accidentally discharged.

The sheriff's office says the rifle went off Thursday night when one of the boys was handing it to the other. The victim was 16, his friend 15.

Neither was immediately identified.
