PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) -- The governors of Oregon and Washington say they've reached an agreement with a Vancouver, Wash., company to mitigate the impacts of a proposed Interstate 5 bridge across the Columbia River.

John Kitzhaber of Oregon and Jay Inslee of Washington announced the agreement with Thompson Metal Fab yesterday but released no details.

Thompson Metal Fab is one of three manufacturers upstream that would not be able to fit some of their products under the proposed bridge, which would be shorter than the existing one.
