BEAVERTON , Ore. -- Beaverton city leaders want to change the rules for food cart owners in an effort to boost business.

The city's current code only allows food carts to operate for seven-hours and then they must be moved. This has created a challenge for food cart owners trying to attract steady business.

Troy Herren, who owns Pork Chop City, told KGW the restrictions were so difficult to keep up with that he eventually moved his business to Portland.

We would love to move back to Beaverton. That's [the restrictions] the only thing. The people were just crushed, he said.

The city is also considering allowing food cart pods in Beaverton.
