LINCOLN CITY, Ore. -- One person was killed and three others seriously injured in a crash along Highway 101 north of Lincoln City Sunday, police said.

A Cadillac DeVille driven by Patty Weissenfluh, 58, of Depoe Bay was traveling southbound on Highway 101 when it crossed the centerline on a curve and collided head-on with an oncoming Kia Soul just before 7 p.m., investigators said.

Weissenfluh was flown in a REACH air ambulance to Legacy Emanuel Medical Center in Portland with critical injuries.

The driver of the Kia - Donna Ball, 71, of Salem - was also flown to Legacy, where she died about four hours later, investigators said.

One passenger in each of the cars was also seriously injured. William Ball, Jr., 74, of Salem andMildred Kauffman, 89, of Lincoln City, were both taken by ambulance to Legacy for treatment.

Highway 101 was closed for over four hours during the investigation and cleanup process.
