PORTLAND -- A man was arrested on 62 domestic violence charges after a Northeast Portland standoff Monday morning, police said.

Police were serving a domestic violence warrant just after 4 a.m. in the 4800 block of Northeast 109th Avenue when two people inside refused to come out of the home, said Sgt. Pete Simpson of the Portland Police Bureau.

A Special Emergency Reaction Team and Crisis Negotiation Team were sent to the home and 33-year-old Jordan Sterling Willis surrendered to police after about three hours.

Willis was jailed on 62 charges related to domestic violence, Simpson said. Willis was expected to appear in court Tuesday.

Willis' girlfriend exited the home when he surrendered. She was arrested on a probation violation, Simpson said.
