VANCOUVER -- Three Clark County men were arrested for felony assault and racially-motivated malicious harassment in a March 18 assault at a Vancouver bar.

The three men assaulted three other men with a deadly weapon at the Quarter Deck Bar, according to court documents. They were accused of making racist comments toward an interracial couple, and then getting a gun from a car and making death threats.

The three suspects fled before police arrived. They were identified as 32-year-old Brent Luyster and his 31-year-old brother Robert Luyster, of Vancouver, and 62-year-old Donald McElfish, of Woodland.

SWAT team members executed three search warrants Thursday and arrested the men. Court records show that the Luyster brothers are affiliated with white supremacy groups and have been involved in other racially-motivated attacks.

Vancouver police spokeswoman Kim Kapp said the case remains under investigation.
