PORTLAND A suspect in Northeast Portland stabbed a man while holding him and another woman hostage at knifepoint for almost half an hour early Sunday morning.
Just after 2 a.m., Dushon Harris, 19, grabbed Kristen Cihak, 24, and held a knife to her throat after she and her friend got out of a car at an apartment building on Northeast Going Street near Northeast Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard, said Sgt. Pete Simpson with Portland police.
Harris then ordered Cihak s friend, 24-year-old Julian Freas, near them and held a second knife to his throat, Simpson said.
The two were held for 20-30 minutes while Harris talked about sexually assaulting Cihak. Then Harris stabbed Freas in the chest. Freas started fighting back, telling Cihak to run, and was then stabbed in the shoulder, Simpson said.
Harris took off running and Cihak and Freas screamed for help. Freas was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Cihak then identified Harris around 4 a.m. after he approached officers at the scene of the crime. Harris was taken into custody and booked in the Multnomah County Jail on assault, kidnap, and attempted rape charges.
