PORTLAND A bicyclist recounted the details of a hit-and-run crash to KGW where he was struck in the street and left to die.

Late Wednesday night, a car bore down on Brian Lyons who was riding his bike near the intersection of Northeast Weidler Street and Northeast 104th Avenue.

I guess I went over the car, flipped over the car, because they hit me straight on their front hood was right on my side, Lyons said. I don t remember the flying or anything. I just remember trying to get off the ground afterward.

Luckily, Lyons didn t break anything. He did suffer severe bruising to his shoulder, ear, head and knees. To him this was a small price to pay considering the circumstances.

I could have died, you know, and those people just left. I just can't believe that, he said.

Lyons still has his sense of humor and won t let the accident keep him off his bike.

There s nothing that will stop me from riding. That s what I do, he said.

Investigators are looking for a 2004 or 2005 silver Subaru or Honda.

They say it s a four-door hatchback and may have a spoiler. Authorities ask anyone with information to call police.

KGW reporter Mike Benner contributed to this report.
