EUGENE, Ore. -- A Eugene man was arrested Sunday when his motorcycle stalled after a high-speed pursuit, police said.

An Oregon State Police trooper saw 42-year-old John Buck driving recklessly in the area of Beltline Highway and Northwest Expressway at about 2:30 a.m., according to Lt. Gregg Hastings. When the trooper tried to pull him over Buck sped away, reaching 125 mph during the pursuit.

Buck drove behind the Valley River Center mall and was attempting to access the Greenway Bike Bridge when his motorcycle stalled, Hastings said.

Buck was arrested just before 3 a.m. and jailed on DUII, reckless driving, attempting to elude, theft and various weapon and drug-related charges.
