LINCOLN CITY -- The man found murdered last weekend in a Lincoln City home died of blunt force injuries, the State Medical Examiner's Office confirmed Tuesday.

The victim was identified as 49-year-old Darrin Masterson Dow, of Tigard.

Joseph Anthony Marsala, 17, of Milwaukie, was arrested in the murder.

Dow's body was found Sunday at a home onReef Avenue near Lincoln City. The News Guard reported the home was owned by a Tigard couple.

A car registered in the victim's name was later found by Portland police, said Lincoln City Police Lt. Jerry Parker.

District Attorney Rob Bovett said Marsala has been moved to the Lincoln County Juvenile Detention Facility. Charges were pending.

Dow died sometime between last Friday and Sunday morning. Investigators believe Marsala fled for Portland in his car.

The Lincoln County Major Crime Team, Oregon State Police detectives and the Portland Police Bureau were all investigating the death.
