Kootenay s Joe Antilla scored 6:12 into overtime to give the Ice a 3-2 win over the Portland Winterhawks in Game 3 of the Western Hockey League Finals Tuesday.

The Ice took a 2-1 series lead with the win, but the two teams are right back at it tomorrow night at 6 p.m. Pacific time for Game 4.

The Ice opened the scoring late in the first period on a goal by Kevin King at the 17:53 mark, but the Hawks tied it up just 1:01 later when Ty Rattie scored his eighth of the playoffs to tie the game at 1-1 going into the second period.

After a scoreless second, the Winterhawks took their first lead of the game 3:54 into the third period on a goal by Sven Bartschi, who has five goals in three games in this series. Bartschi has 10 goals in the playoffs, and a five-game goal scoring streak overall. But the Ice got the equalizer at the 13:58 mark when Drew Czerwonka scored, rounding out the scoring in regulation and setting up the Winterhawks fourth overtime game of the postseason.

The Hawks had won two of their first three overtime games in this year s playoffs, but Antilla kept them from improving on that mark when his shot from the left faceoff circle found the back of the net.

Mac Carruth made 38 saves on Kootenay s 41 shots, while his counterpart Nathan Lieuwen stopped 34 of 36 Portland shots.

Game 4 is tomorrow night in Cranbrook at 6 p.m. local time, and the series returns to Portland for Game 5 Friday night at the Rose Garden at 7:30 p.m.
