GRANTS PASS, Ore. -- Two pounds of heroin, eight guns and three ATV's were among the items seized in Grants Pass Tuesday in a local task force's biggest-ever drug bust, police said.

The Rogue Area Drug Enforcement team served warrants at about 2:30 p.m. at a home in the 2900 block of Cloverlawn Drive and a fifth-wheel trailer parked nearby, said Oregon State Police Lt. Gregg Hastings.

In addition to the heroin, guns and ATV's detectives found marijuana, methamphetamine and other stolen items at both locations, Hastings said.

Christine Esquivel, 23, was arrested at the home for possession of a controlled substance and unlawful use of a vehicle. Marcos Antonio Gutierrez, 35, and 42-year-old Samuel DeLaCruz Gutierrez were arrested at the trailer for unlawful possession, distribution, and manufacture of controlled substances.

Another man, 31-year-old David Westley Jones, fled the scene, but was found inside the trailer the next day and arrested for possession of a controlled substance and unlawful use of a vehicle. He also had an outstanding warrant on burglary charges.

All three suspects were lodged in the Josephine County Jail. Hastings said more arrests were expected.

The heroin seizure alone is described as the largest amount seized by RADE during the team's five year existence, Hastings said.
