PORTLAND -- Ty Rattie scored a goal 55 seconds into overtime Friday night to give the Portland Winterhawks a 4-3 win over the Kootenay Ice in Game 1 of the Western Hockey League Finals.

The game-winning goal was Rattie’s seventh goal of the postseason and his third game in a row with a goal. He also had an assist.

The win snapped an 11-game winning streak for Kootenay.

Mac Carruth stopped 39 of 42 shots for Portland. Nathan Lieuwen made 30 saves on 34 Portland attempts.

Game Two of the series was scheduled for 7 p.m.  Saturday at the Rose Garden.
