Portland opened the scoring midway through the first period with a goal by Ty Rattie at the 12:25 mark. It was his third postseason goal. Taylor Peters gave the Winterhawks a 2-0 lead just 39 seconds later.

Shane McColgan scored the first goal for the Rockets late in the first period to cut the lead in half.

With no goals scored in the second period, Joe Morrow got the Winterhawks back on the board with a power play goal 2:30 into the third period. Kelowna’s Brett Bulmer answered at the 12:46 mark to make it a 3-2 game.

With less than four minutes to go, Ryan Johansen put the game out of reach with a goal at the 17:39 mark to make the Portland lead 4-2. Nino Niederreiter had three assists in the game. He now has at least one point in all eight playoff games. Niederreiter has 17 total points in the playoffs.
