PORTLAND – The Portland Thorns won their home opener against Kansas City Saturday, 3-1.

More than 14,000 fans flocked to Providence Park to see the Thorns take on FC Kansas City.

Midfielder Allie Long scored one goal and Jessica McDonald scored two to launch the Thorns over KC.

Saturday’s match was the first home match for the Thorns since August.

Next, they play the Western New York Flash in Rochester, NY on May 3.
