PORTLAND -- Portland Timbers goalkeeper Donovan Ricketts was named the 2013 Major League Soccer Goalkeeper of the Year.

Ricketts finished the 2013 season with career highs in shutouts (14) and saves (92). He was also second in the league, behind Jimmy Nielsen of Sporting Kansas City, in goals-against average among keepers with at least 20 appearances.

The only time his numbers were better was during his 2010 season with the Galaxy, when he won the Goalkeeper of the Year award for the first time.

Ricketts is only the fourth player in league history to win the award multiple times.

Timbers head coach Caleb Porter was named the 2013 MLS Coach of the Year.
