SPOKANE, Wash. (AP) -- Jeremiah Dominguez scored 25 points and Portland State upset No. 7 Gonzaga 77-to-70 for its first win over a ranked team since it reinstated its basketball program for the 1996-97 season.
Portland State relied on a short, quick lineup, but still managed to outrebound the Zags 39-30.
Dominguez was 7-of-10 on 3-pointers, and the Vikings made 12-of-31 as a team. Phil Nelson and Dominic Waters added 16 points for Portland State.
Dominguez described the stunning win as "a big statement" for the Portland State program.
