In a couple years the Rose Garden won’t likely be the Rose Garden.

Paul Allen’s company Vulcan Inc. and the Trail Blazers announced Wednesday they’re looking for a corporate sponsor to rename Portland’s biggest arena.

Blazers’ President Larry Miller said they have started talking to several interested local companies and regional and national investors.

Officials said they hope to have a deal by the 2008-09 season. Formal discussions start in January.

The Rose Garden hosts the Blazers’, Portland LumberJax lacrosse along with being one of the area’s biggest concert venues.

“The goal is to once again find a partner whose core values match our own,” Vulcan Sports and Entertainment CEO Tod Leiweke said. Leiweke was also instrumental in helping get the Qwest Field name for the Seattle Seahawks.
