MIAMI - Trail Blazer rookie center Greg Oden, sidelined with injuries last season and the first part of this one, will return to action Wednesday night against the Miami Heat.

During practice Tuesday Oden reported no pain in his foot. His teammates and coach say they think he's ready after spraining his right foot in the season opener.

“I think he just needs to get to the floor. I tell him, just play. You know what you can do out on the floor. Go have some fun and play. Enjoy it. Don’t think about everyone else’s expectations. What do you want? What do you want to become? Just go have some fun,” Trail Blazer coach Nate McMillan said on the team’s official blog.

Portland, with a 4-3 record, looks to extend the current win streak to four as they take on the 4-2 Heat in the second game of the first extended road trip of the season at American Airlines Arena.

The Trail Blazers swept the series against Miami last season, led by Brandon Roy and Travis Outlaw.

Roy is listed as day-to-day and is suffering from back spasms.

Portland will face the Heat’s All-Star guard, Dwayne Wade, who averaged 29 points, 7.5 rebounds and 6 assists against Portland last year.

Wade is averaging 27.1 points per game this season.

Historically, Portland holds the advantage in its series against Miami, with a 15-5 record.

Wednesday’s game can be seen locally on Comcast Channel 37 and ESPN. Tip-off is scheduled for 5 p.m. Pacific Standard Time.
