07:01 PM PDT on Sunday, October 12, 2008
PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) -- Sophie Schmidt had a pair of goals and Megan Rapinoe and Janelle Jacka also scored to lead the third-ranked University of Portland soccer team to a 4-0 win at Gonzaga on Sunday.
Portland (11-1) extended its winning streak to 10 games even though coach Garrett Smith did not start his trio of USA Under-20 National Team players that will not be available for the 2008 playoffs.
Pilot goalkeeper Kelsey Davis needed to make only two saves to record her ninth shutout.
In other women's soccer action, No. 19 California beat the Oregon Ducks 5-1.
