PORTLAND -- Tuesday was a big day for Blazers fans as the team prepared to take the court for the first pre-season game, with Greg Oden set for his long-awaited debut.
Single-game regular tickets also went on sale at noon.
Some die-hard fans waited outside the Rose Garden arena the day before the game and they slept in the box office lobby overnight. The two fans were prepared for an all-nighter with their sleeping bags and told Newschannel 8, these tickets were worth the wait.
"In year's past it used to be you could show up the night of the game and buy your tickets at the box office and go in, and this year with all the excitement, it wasn't guaranteed that I was going to be able to get seats, so I knew I had to make it a priority to be out here and catch some games," said Blazers fan Ryan Hossner.
Blazers' President Larry Miller and General Manager Kevin Pritchard even paid them a visit. The team also hooked the fans up with some pizza and some Blazers gear.
The Blazers will ring in the pre-season with four games in the next six days: The Sacramento Kings Tuesday night, then the Golden State Warriors on Wednesday, both at home. Then a meeting with the Hawks in Kansas City and a home date with the Utah Jazz Sunday afternoon.
