A giant get well card for Trail Blazer Greg Oden arrived in Portland’s living room Wednesday. It gave fans a chance to cheer up Oden as he recovered from season ending knee surgery.
Nike created the life-sized get-well card. Dozens of fans signed it Friday night during the Southridge-Grant high school football game.
The card was originally made up of three, 4-by-8 foot panels. A fourth was added to accommodate all the people who wanted to sign the card.
Fans who wrote messages on the card Wednesday in Pioneer Courthouse Square said they support Oden and looked forward to seeing him play next season. “I love to see good players and I’m ready for him to get better so I can see him do his thing,” said Dana Granby. “Hopefully he can get better and we can make this happen.”
