EUGENE, Ore. -- The biggest surprises in fall camp for the Oregon Ducks this season have come at wide receiver.

Oregon's Jordan Kent, left, battles defender Sharrod Davis for position during the first scrimmage of the year in Eugene.

James Finley and Cameron Colvin were projected as starters. But it seems as if Brian Paysinger, Jordan Kent and Garren Strong have each excelled -- all making cases for a start come Saturday.

The Number 21 Ducks host Stanford in an unusual season-opening conference game at Autzen.

Paysinger is listed ahead of Finley on the latest depth chart, and Kent is up on Colvin.

Kent, a three-sport star who also runs track and played basketball, had never played football until last season. He got a shot with the Ducks after appealing to the coaches and finished with three catches for 114 yards, including a 68-yard touchdown catch against Washington State.

Kent's dad is Oregon basketball coach Ernie Kent.
