Blazers Roy says he feels great

Blazers All-Star guard Brandon Roy says he feels great less than a week after having surgery on his left knee.
"I feel like I'm getting stronger," said Roy. "I feel great right now and can't wait to get back on the floor, especially watching the guys work out right now."

Blazers rookie Brandon Roy in his pro debut against the team he grew up rooting for, the Seattle Sonics.
Roy met with the media Wednesday for the first time since the minor surgery last Thursday. Talking at the Blazers practice facility, Roy said that although he feels good, the Blazers plan to bring him back slow.
"It's funny, when I woke up from surgery and they told me everything was great, I was really excited, even for a guy who just had surgery, because I knew everything was still pretty much on pace."
This is the third time that Roy has had meniscus knee surgery since his high school days in Seattle, twice on his left knee and once on his right.
"I had this surgery on this knee once in high school and when I came back from it, I thought the knee felt great," said Roy. "For me, this is just a minor setback."
The Blazers say Roy should be back in three to five weeks, but there is no rush. Training camp starts in September but they don't play the season opener until October 28th against the Lakers in Los Angeles.
With Blazers Center Greg Oden coming back, along with spanish sensation Rudy Fernandez and first round draft pick Jerryd Bayless, USA Today has the Blazers listed number five in their NBA Power Rankings.
I asked Roy about that and he seemed stunned.
"Fifth in the NBA?" Brandon asked, chuckling at the thought.
"Wow," Brandon said laughing. "I don't know. Our goal is to try and make the playoffs this season."
A healthy Roy is the first step.
