UO's Rashad to be enshrined in college football hall
09:21 AM PDT on Saturday, July 19, 2008
SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- Long before he became a sports
commentator, Ahmad Rashad was a football star at Oregon, where he
played from 1969 to 1971 as Bobby Moore.
This weekend, the 58-year-old Rashad will be reflecting on his
college football days when he's enshrined into the College Football
Hall of Fame.
Rashad and 19 others including legendary coach Joe Paterno and
1984 Heisman Trophy winner Doug Flutie of Boston College will be
enshrined Saturday at the hall in South Bend, Indiana.
As a Duck, Rashad led the Pac-10 conference in scoring at two
positions -- as a wide receiver in 1969 and as a tailback in 1971.
