PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) -- Portland Trail Blazers forward LaMarcus Aldridge was named to the squad that will help prepare the U.S. men's national team for the Olympics.

Ten players were picked for the select team, which will be coached again by Oklahoma City's P.J. Carlesimo. Two additional players will be selected from the Las Vegas summer league, which ends Sunday.

The Americans will train for four days in Las Vegas before playing an exhibition against Canada on July 25. The U.S. team then plays four more exhibitions in China before opening the Olympics on Aug. 10 against the host Chinese.

"This is going to be a great opportunity for LaMarcus," said.

Blazers coach Nate McMillan, a national team assistant coach. "The thinking with the committee was that they wanted to bring in some guys that they felt would have a shot at being on the 2012 Olympic Team. I'm glad he'll be out there getting that experience. He's going to be playing against the best."

Others on the team include Rookie of the Year Kevin Durant, No. 1 draft pick Derrick Rose, Memphis rookie O.J. Mayo, Philadelphia's Andre Iguodala, Sacramento guard Kevin Martin, Atlanta center Al Horford, Oklahoma City's Jeff Green, Detroit guard Rodney Stuckey and Houston's Luther Head.
